Maternity Coaching

It’s so much more than a belly check and vital signs.

Knowledge is Everything

The reality of maternity care in the U.S. shows clear gaps in education, communication, and support. Many outcomes can improve when women are given the right information early and consistently. Currently:

  • The U.S. maternal mortality rate is 22.3 per 100,000 births, the highest among industrialized countries. For Black women, that number more than doubles to 49.5.

  • 1 in 10 babies are born preterm, with a national rate of 10.4.

  • Cesarean rates continue to rise, with 26.6% among low-risk, first-time mothers and 32.4% overall.

  • While 85% of mothers begin breastfeeding in the hospital, that number drops significantly by discharge and continues to decline within the first 6 weeks.

  • 1 in 3 women report mistreatment during maternity care, and nearly half do not feel comfortable speaking up or asking questions. These challenges are even more pronounced for minority women.

When women are given clear, practical information and consistent support, they are better prepared to make decisions, reduce risk, and experience care that aligns with their needs.
